The team has just returned from a week-long break and is currently in Germany for pre-season training, preparing for their first game against Grasshopper Club Zurich on Saturday.

Although the new season is just around the corner, Potter still wants to give Freddie Potts and George Earthy a chance to prove themselves as midfielders. Despite interest from other teams in the English football league, Potter is willing to give them a chance.

Both Potts and Earthy had a successful loan period with Bristol City and Portsmouth respectively last season. Potts made 37 appearances and scored one goal, while Earthy made 40 appearances and showed promising skills.

Meanwhile, Lewis Orford and Kaelan Casey, who are also part of the West Ham academy, have been involved in pre-season training but are likely to be loaned out to other teams as they are not yet considered first-team contenders.
