Lavia has had a challenging time at Chelsea since joining the team from Southampton in 2023 for a reported £58 million.
He has made 29 appearances for the club, but has struggled with injuries that have limited his playing time.
In a post-match press conference, Maresca expressed his concern for Lavia's well-being.
"We feel bad for him, especially considering his injury history," Maresca said.
"He hasn't been able to stay fit for a significant period of time. We'll need to see how he recovers from this latest setback, which appears to be a quad injury.
