When asked about the upcoming match against Everton at Old Trafford, Amorim emphasized that he doesn't pay much attention to the league table, citing the competitiveness of the Premier League.
"It doesn't matter in our league," he said. "Everything is so tight, and that's irrelevant."
Amorim's words reflect the significant changes that have taken place at Manchester United since last November, when the team drew 1-1 with Ipswich Town.
Since then, five starters from that match, including forward Marcus Rashford, have left the squad.
Amorim expressed his initial excitement about joining the Premier League, but also acknowledged the challenges that come with managing one of the world's top teams.
"It's a big job, and it's going to require a lot of work," he said.
Despite the progress the team has made, Amorim emphasized the importance of staying focused and not getting complacent.
"We have to take into account that we started in a difficult position last year," he said. "And we have to play every game like it's the last one or the first one."
Amorim's goal is to see a more dominant and competitive team that can consistently perform well.
As the team prepares to face Everton, Amorim remains optimistic about their chances.
