"His words were very harsh on the players," said Rooney. "If a manager speaks in such a way, it suggests there's a problem." He added that Amorim's age, being 40, is still relatively young for a manager, and that he might not be used to the level of pressure that comes with managing Manchester United.
"Manchester United is very different from where Amorim has been before," Rooney explained. "There's a big team, a big media presence, and a lot of pressure to perform." He believes that when the team is not winning games, the pressure can become overwhelming, and it seemed like Amorim was at his limit.
Rooney also questioned whether Manchester United would be able to find a suitable replacement for Amorim if he were to be sacked. He pointed out that it's surprising that one of the biggest clubs in the world might struggle to find a new manager.
"The problem we have now is that it's hard to find someone who wants to take on the challenge," Rooney said. "It's crazy to think that one of the biggest clubs in the world might be struggling to find a new manager."
