The U.S. State Department has denied visas for Iran's football delegation, preventing them from attending the 2026 World Cup draw in Washington, D.C. This decision comes after a U.S. executive order restricting travel from 12 countries, including Iran, was issued earlier this year.The U.S. government has denied visas to Iran Football Federation President Mehdi Taj, coach Amir Ghalenoei, and seven other officials, according to reports from Iran.

The group draw is set to take place at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. on December 5th, and Iran's representatives will likely miss this event.

Iran secured World Cup qualification in March after a 2-2 draw with Uzbekistan, and their federation is taking the visa denial to FIFA for review.
