Potter previously had success in Sweden with Ostersunds SK, a team he led for seven years before returning to British football with Swansea City and later West Ham.

He also managed Chelsea and Brighton in his career.

Sweden remains in contention to qualify for the next World Cup despite being winless in their last three games.
