Although Caicedo still has a long-term contract with Chelsea, with six years left and an option for a further 12 months, he is already thinking about his future. In an interview, Caicedo expressed his desire to return to Ecuador if given the opportunity.
Caicedo said, "The future is uncertain, but if I'm given the chance and it's God's will, I want to return to my country. If the opportunity arises to play in Liga (De Quito), I'll take it without hesitation."
