The football club has offered RB Leipzig several players in an attempt to set up a swap arrangement. Chelsea has proposed two players, Carney Chukwuemeka and Tyrique George, as part of the exchange.

Christopher Nkunku, a France attacker, has also been mentioned in the negotiations. However, Nkunku has expressed reluctance to return to his former club, especially after they missed out on Champions League qualification.
